I posted on my Facebook page about this adorable couple…

oh my goodness, I felt we never stopped laughing thoughout their maternity session…

But when I look through the pictures, I see there are also some beautiful, tender, and serene moments too…

Jenna, you are truly radiant…. seriously….. you just glow with happiness about this baby that’s about to enter your lives And back to the laughing – I LOVED them drawing all over the bump – gotta love a couple that’s up for facepaints on the beach.

Jenna and Dan, enjoy these last few weeks – I absolutely can’t wait for the laughs and smiles when baby arrives, Kirsty xx

I had this shoot in my head…. long before I saw the tea set and cupcakes, and before I persuaded Nai Nai (Grandma) that’s what the girls really, really wanted for Chirstmas – it was somewhere in there, as a concept…. with the lanterns, and the clock, and the favourite teddybears and the girlyness, and the filtered sunlight, and the net canopy and the rag dolls, and the cute, yet slightly vintage clothes – the whimsical feel – it was all somewhere in there…..

And when it came togather one day in March (yes, it has taken me that long to blog these -ugh, I’m bad) I just planted the ideas in the girls heads and sat back and watched, from a distance, and it evolved, and they play ate, and play fed, and read stories, and danced, and took walks with their bears, and did ballerina twirls, and arranged things, just right, and played their musical jewellery box, and had cups of tea, and made tea for me, and sang and laughed and ate and danced some more…..

This is my favourite kind of shoot – no pressure to perform, no lens in your face (when I said I watched from a distance I meant it – they’re almost all with my 70-200mm lens), no nagging, hovvering Mum, no awkward Dad, no fixed-for-the-camera-fake smiles, just kids, and some of their favourite things and time and space and unlimited imagination to enjoy them… and that kind of freedom makes for magical, whimsical images, that are true to them, and their personalities, and create a real, true memory of this place in time… and they’re not perfect, but neither am I, and neither are my girls but I love them…..

Last time I photographed this family they had one less member – let me tell you, he made up for that with the best smiles and laughs, EVER, when we had this photo shoot! Don’t you just LOVE them? I’d have this jumping on the bed picture hanging huge above my bed – they are just so gorgeous.

And here’s Mr Finn – what a cutie – check out those heartbreaker eyes..

who adores his big sister… and it’s 100% reciprocated by her – seriously, are they sweeties together or what?

Finn laughs so hard when Erin is around – this is the best toothless grin I think I have ever seen!!!

Erin, you are adorable as ever!

This was my fourth shoot with Elyazia this year – the first one at 9 days old, then 3 months, then 9 months and now, oh my goodness she’s ONE!!! And a proper little grown up lady having tea parties of her own!

What made this shoot really special was that it was the first one Daddy has been able to be at – they adore each other – and here Daddy’s whispering to her to blow kisses at Mummy – awwwwww.

We tried the cake smash but the proper little lady didn’t really want to get her hands dirty and opted for a spoon instead!! Bless.

And I couldn’t not show one of how big brother Hamdan is growing up could I?

Happy 1st Birthday Elyazia – I’ve had the most wonderful time documenting your first year – and now that your Mummy and I are firm friends I know I’m going to keep seeing more of you as you grow up too, Kirsty xx

This little fella jumped out of his car to show me his lion and dinosaurs as soon as we met early (ugh, make that very early) one Friday morning – and we spent the whole session making animal roars, grunts and noises at each other – so, so totally adorable!!!

Mansour is just the sweetest boy – and was full of hugs for his gorgeous Mama too – awwwww…. Seriously could he be any cuter?And do you know just how many girls are jealous of those gorgeous, gorgeous eyelashes?

I met Theo last week and I swear he is the chirpiest baby I’ve ever met, he was constantly laughing and smiling and there was never a whinge from him the whole session.

Just adorable, and adored…

Even putting his naked bottom on a cold marble floor didn’t wipe the smiles off his darling face – I love that he still has that gorgeous baby chubbiness that they lose once they’re really on the move…

And he’s just starting to be on the move – he thought it was hilarious to try and throw himself off the end of the bed at me!!!

I had a great time with little Thomas – he was constantly on the go and gave me my workout for the weekend chasing him and playing with him.

Isn’t he a total cutie?

And I know people are going to ask if these are studio shots, but no, I still don’t have a studio – my wonderful clients suggest locations and I use my creativity to work each place to our advantage.

I photographed this adorable family last year when they were waiting - and now their adorable plus one has arrived – and is 9 months old already? How can time fly so fast???

Look how she just fits in to the family fun – and even leads the way!!
