I’m a bad blogger – a really bad blogger – especially when it comes to posting my gorgeous clients – you see, over the last year my focus has been on actually getting pictures to clients – getting them in their hands, on their walls and on their coffee tables… and one of the sad facts of Abu Dhabi life is that people leave here, and move on to other places or head back home… like these three little cuties – who had a shoot to remember their time in Abu Dhabi before they left, and it was more important that they had their pictures before the movers arrived, and so I never got round to blogging them…

when I was looking back through this years clients I could hardly believe I’d not shared them..

are they just adorable or what??

I hope you’ve all settled back into life in England and have happy memories of Abu Dhabi hanging on your walls

I could have shared all the pictures from their shoot I loved them so much but I’ll be back to share some more client gorgeousness soon, Kirsty x

2010… A review…

I so love what I get to do for a living… meeting the amazing families of Abu Dhabi, and further afield, and reconnecting with former clients who’ve now become friends is just wonderful. I feel very blessed, and honoured to be able to capture memories and just a little bit emotional when I go back through the pictures of a year and see babies born, children grow up, milestones reached, vows made, laughs laughed, fun had, smiles, giggles, cuddles, tickles, tears, joy, hello’s, farewells… so in farewell to 2010, here is the Kirsty Larmour Photography review of the year…

A special kind of tea party…

When we were in England we had plans for a tea party, a special kind of tea party. In the end, the weather meant the plans didn’t quite work, and we had a very spur of the moment party one afternoon when the sun came out.

And despite the weather we had jam and scones, and flowers…

And the best china tea cups – my own Grannie’s no less!

And bunting (thank you Little Kitten on Etsy), and bird cages and lanterns,

And Saffy and Indy were joined at their tea party by some well loved bears, and by their beloved Nainai and Yeye…

And we weren’t the only ones having tea parties….

All over the world, during the month of August, people were having tea parties in celebration of the life of a special little girl called Ava

If you had a beautiful afternoon of cupcakes or scones or lemonade or tea for an Ava’s tea party celebration this summer too I’d love to hear about it (and don’t forget to share on the Ava’s Tea Party Facebook page too).

Ramadan Kareem – a family time promotion

Ramadan Kareem to all my lovely clients and friends. I love Ramadan, in particular because it means the girls and I get to spend more time with Daddy – but also for the great food, the sense of calm and contemplation which prevails in Abu Dhabi and the warmness and friendliness of everyone at this time.

In the spirit of Ramadan I’m running a promotion on large canvasses. My Ramadan promotion on large block prints last year was hugely popular but this year my clients are loving the canvasses so this is your chance to get them at an amazing price. The 2 largest sizes I offer will be discounted by 30% (30 being the aproximate number of days in Ramadan), if you order one of your whole family. If the picture doesn’t feature your whole family I’ll discount by 15%. This will run up till the end of Eid Al Fitr and is open to all current and past 2010 clients.

And you may remember I had a photo shoot for my family booked for our trip back to Ireland… well, it didn’t quite work out, so I had to resort to the self timer for our own family portraits this year!!! (and unfortunately I don’t rock the self timer quite as much as some of my gorgeous photographer friends – see Kristen and Rikki’s fabulous self portrait work) Help me choose which I should pick for my own walls….. leave your suggestions in the comments below.

UK bound | Abu Dhabi Photographer

The girls and I are headed to the UK for a month… and I can’t wait…. it’s been so long…. look at how little the girls were on our last trip….

Indy was just 2 months old

And Saffy had just turned 2. She had her first ski lesson there last time – Indy wants her first ski lesson this trip!! They also want games of football (the Grandfathers have been informed), tea parties (cousins have been invited), cupcake making (supplies bought), breakfast with the ducks (also invited but not yet RSVP’ed), walks on the beach (Granny and her dog are required company), stories, and songs, and dancing and flower picking, and mountain climbing (in their flip flops) and meeting up with old friends, and picnics, and tree climbing and…. and…. and….

Kirsty Larmour Photography will be closed for the month of July – but I have some more background type posts to keep you amused and informed while I’m away – and I may try and sneak in the odd pic of the girls loving the Yorkshire and Irish countryside – I can’t wait!!!

Toothless grins | Abu Dhabi Family Photographer

Last time I photographed this family they had one less member – let me tell you, he made up for that with the best smiles and laughs, EVER, when we had this photo shoot! Don’t you just LOVE them? I’d have this jumping on the bed picture hanging huge above my bed – they are just so gorgeous.

And here’s Mr Finn – what a cutie – check out those heartbreaker eyes..

who adores his big sister… and it’s 100% reciprocated by her – seriously, are they sweeties together or what?

Finn laughs so hard when Erin is around – this is the best toothless grin I think I have ever seen!!!

Erin, you are adorable as ever!

I had a great time with little Thomas – he was constantly on the go and gave me my workout for the weekend chasing him and playing with him.

Isn’t he a total cutie?

And I know people are going to ask if these are studio shots, but no, I still don’t have a studio – my wonderful clients suggest locations and I use my creativity to work each place to our advantage.

Oh bless, he finally crashed out at the end – snuggles with his bear Charlie – Thomas you are adorable! Kirsty x

Beach Baby ♥ Abu Dhabi Baby Photographer

How could little Sapphire be anything other than a beach baby? Remember the bump and newborn shoots with the surfboard? Yeah, she was surfing at 7 days old and now she’s a 6 month old beach baby - I ♥LOVE♥ this shot!

I loved having an early morning beach session with these guys -I’ve said it before – and for sure I’ll bore you all by saying it again, but the early morning light in AD is just divine!

And then we went for a roll around in the grass - can you believe her gorgeous eyelashes?

Little Sapphy, it was wonderful to see you again, and you know I’m going to be expecting you to be surfing for real by your first birthday shoot.

I’m not a mathemetician but I know that “Early morning light + beautiful baby bump + long wavy grass = two of my favourite maternity images, ever”I love how the light just outlines her here…. can you belive her due date is less than a week away?

No wonder they’re reading up about babies!!!!

Julia and Taras, you were just wonderful, and full of ideas and fun and love and that just makes you the kind of people I want to hang out with on a Friday morning – thank you – and I can’t wait to meet your little bundle, very soon…. Kirsty x

Sweetness ♥ Abu Dhabi Family Photographer

Often when chatting to potential clients we realise we have things in common – it seems to happen all the time, and I love that - the first time I chatted to this Mum we realised this little sweetheart is just one day younger than my Indy – so we got them together for a playdate! They spent a lot of time playing tea parties so I suggested to Mum that they bring the tea party set along to the shoot. I absolutely love these of the three (and a half – yes there’s another one preparing himself to join the party soon) of them having a little picnic together.
