Making crumble

I recently took a class on making films with the wonderful Sarah Mason. Sarah creates moments that combine both whimsy and truth in her film making and has inspired me for years. In all honesty, while I use photography for many reasons during different seasons of life, the overriding purpose of it isn’t about a…

Artifact Motherhood | November 2020

Artifact motherhood is a collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Our hopes and dreams for our children. With little nuggets of wisdom here and there. These are more than photographs with dates written on the back. These are the artifact we are leaving behind for children and the generations to come.

Season of Motherhood | September 2020

Sometimes my sweetie, it’s on the blurry days, where we feel we have to work hard to see out through the fog, that we find our strength, and I see you, and your sister, brave enough to share your vulnerabilities, and yet walking through those days with increasing strength.     This is part of…

Artifact Motherhood July 2020

I’m so proud to be a member of Artifact motherhood. It’s a beautiful collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Our hopes and dreams for our children. With little nuggets of wisdom here and there. These are more than photographs with dates written on the…

The Travelling Dress Collective

The travelling dress collective is a beautiful ongoing project where multiple photographers each with their own style and view of the world photograph the same dress to make their own unique visions come alive. I was fascinated by the project and the way different photographers brought varied and individual elements to the project and always…

Seasons of Motherhood | May 2020

I know it looks like a pretty regular image. Me spying on the girls through window into the back yard. But it’s special because they’re working together, in sync, and dancing, which they love. Because being cramped up all together for all this time the challenge has been to get space from each other, not…

Artifact Motherhood | April 2020

I’m hugely honoured to be joining Artifact Motherhood; a collaboration of artists from around the world who have come together to share our stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Through our writings and visual records, we want to create memories that are more than photographs with dates written on the back. Started by Diana Hagues and Hollie Stokes, these posts are the artifacts we are leaving behind for our children and for generations to come. Please check out the next artist in our blog circle, and continue through all the artists until you get back to me

Wish You Where Here 2019

Wow, wow, wow! It’s really been 6 whole years of this amazing project, the Wish You Were Here project! And through dodgy wifi and difficult countries, international moves and sickness I’ve kept posting and sharing to our log of a picture a week of life where ever we are. And I absolutely love that I…

A ballerina in the desert

It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 months since we left Abu Dhabi behind and jumped across the Arabian Sea to India. It’s hard because Abu Dhabi is in all of our hearts, it’s a place that made us who we are as a family, and definitely made me who I am as an artist and photographer.

Dear Photographer | The Colour Edition

I was recently published in the beautiful Dear Photographer Magazine. One of the most amazing feelings when you are creating something visual is seeing your work displayed or in print. When it’s a print publication that leads and uplifts the industry and they actually approach you because they think your work would be perfect for…

Mamas, get in the frame!

We photographers say it all the time! Get in the frame -get out from behind the camera – be in those pictures with your kids – we Mama’s are particularly bad at this – we follow our kids and dote on them and capture their every move in an attempt to treasure their childhood. But…

30 days of | Click Pro December Project

I shared some previous ClickPro monthly projects. I love that these push me to look for different photo opportunities that I might not try otherwise. In December the topic was quite loose…. just “30 days of…” and you could choose your own topic but then shoot it every day. I chose “30 days of my…

Kirsty Larmour Photography | Review of the Year 2018

Happy 2019!! And thanks for the wild ride 2018!! I’m delighted that I got to capture families all over the world this year – our move from Abu Dhabi saw me branch further afield, and try new things, meet different people and embrace change. The constant throughout all this was my desire to capture connection,…

Wish You Were Here 2018

I can not believe it’s been FIVE years of the Wish You Were Here Project – that’s amazing… Most projects fizzle out after a year or 2 so five is an incredible achievement. I’m so, so happy to have a photo a week of little moments in our days and our travels and our normal…
