Diamond Jubilee | Abu Dhabi Child Photographer

You didn’t think I was going to let the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee pass without a shoot did you? We Brits love to celebrate – and we had a lot of fun for the Royal Wedding last year!

Especially as a British mummy of 2 non-British kids, who have never spent much time in the country of my birth I think it’s important to celebrate this part of their heritage – especially as we celebrate and document their Chinese and UAE heritage too!!

So forgive these slightly rushed, quickly processed, hurriedly put together photos but we popped out yesterday and grabbed these just outside our apartment building (yup, there’s a balloon shop just around the corner too!!)  – the blue doors just seemed perfect – although a lot of the office workers came down and watched what was going on which made the girls a little inhibited – back to fields, woodland, beaches and open spaces for my next shoot I think!!!I asked the girls to pick what they’d like to wear – suggesting it should be red, white and blue – We already had the fab crown from Sweet Violet Jane , and some of the other props from the Royal Wedding Shoot last year but Saffy, never out of her favourite CourtneyCourtney dresses picked her “6” dress – I added a temporary “0” which made it perfect for this occasion!  And the love heart headband was from Ladylike on Etsy.

I’ve been loving seeing all the celebrations back in the UK – it looks like such an amazing time – I remember the street party when I was a tiny girl for the Silver Jubilee so I hope my girls will remember that we did something to celebrate – a photo shoot and then we’re off to be awfully British and have afternoon tea today 🙂

Let me know what you’ve been upto to celebrate – and in the words of one of the posters behind the girls “Keep calm and reign on!”
