Creativity on the Fly, a Self Paced Course by Kirsty Larmour

It is always an honour when you’re asked to teach on a subject you’re passionate about. So when I was approached by Click Photo School to ask if I could work on something on creativity I took a deep breath and said YES! Why the deep breath? Because creativity is something so deeply ingrained in…

30 days of | Click Pro December Project

I shared some previous ClickPro monthly projects. I love that these push me to look for different photo opportunities that I might not try otherwise. In December the topic was quite loose…. just “30 days of…” and you could choose your own topic but then shoot it every day. I chose “30 days of my…

Kirsty Larmour Photography | Review of the Year 2018

Happy 2019!! And thanks for the wild ride 2018!! I’m delighted that I got to capture families all over the world this year – our move from Abu Dhabi saw me branch further afield, and try new things, meet different people and embrace change. The constant throughout all this was my desire to capture connection,…

The Wondering Light | Pieces of Magic

Sometimes you have a seed of a thought, which develops into an idea, which gets shared and grows and is nurtured and evolves and eventually turns into a little piece of magic. And that happened last year for me. In the form of “The Wondering Light”, a beautiful, enriching photography retreat in Goa, India. That…

This is Me | Click Pro August Project

This is Me. Sometimes photography takes a lot of bravery. Non more so than when you take part in a project that involves taking self portraits. Like many photographers I am a million times more comfortable behind the lens. Like many women I see my own flaws all too clearly and have the voices of…

Abu Dhabi Ramadan in Photos

Ramadan Kareem. Ramadan is a really special time when you live in the U.A.E. Last year I strived to capture an Abu Dhabi Ramadan in photos so that I could treasure some of the things that make it unique. It’s a quiet time for contemplation and Abu Dhabi seems peaceful and even for those who…

Nikon Photo School | Learning Photography in the U.A.E.

I’m all for putting my money where my mouth is!!! And to my great honour, Nikon Middle East recently made me do that!!! One day last year I was talking with the people at Nikon Photo School about the lack of females in their speaker lineup, and the lack of education in their lineup aimed…

Xposure International Photography Festival 2017 | a recap

Last month I had the opportunity to teach a workshop at the Xposure International Photography Festival held in Sharjah, UAE. I wanted to do a brief, informal recap on what an incredible teaching platform that is. Obviously I was thrilled to be part of it, and the fact that my class on photographing your kids…

Behind the Scenes in the desert

Sometime in January I headed out of town to location scout for some great spots for some Abu Dhabi desert shoots – what happened instead was that I ended up filming some behind the scenes for my latest break out, and they ended up being some of my favourite photos!!! I had my camera, but really I…

The Moment Before | A ClickinMoms Breakout

I am SO excited to be part of another BreakOut for Click Photo School!!!! I love their BreakOuts as a short, sweet means of learning at your own pace and they’re just such incredibly good value. This one is with 4 other amaaaazingly talented artists – like so much talent that my jaw hit the desk…

ClickinWalk 6th May 2017 – and a look back at the 2016 walk

The ClickinWalk is coming up soon and this year it will be held in Abu Dhabi for the first time ever which is very exciting for me as someone who has been a photographer in Abu Dhabi for 10 years!! For those that don’t know about it, it’s a photo walk that happens in cities all…
