Kirsty Larmour Photography – Eco Statement

As a former Environmental Consultant it’s important to me that I make efforts to minimise the environmental impact of my business. I endeavor to undertake the following steps:

• Run a paperless company as far as possible
• All business printed materials will be on recycled or post-consumer waste card stock
• All client printed materials will be on recycled card by default, changeable to another card type by request only
• All packaging materials will be recycled
• Bulk buying and bulk shipping will be undertaken whenever possible
• All client information should be available electronically, including contracts, pricelists and product information
• All shipping materials should be recycled where possible – this includes charity donations, neighbourhood recycling and donation to schools/playgroups
• Pre shoot consultations should take place over the phone wherever possible to avoid unnecessary travel
• Client deliveries should be grouped together, especially when off island, to avoid multiple road journeys
• Company newsletters will be sent electronically
• All cameras/batteries etc should be recharagble
• Other equipment, eg computers, scanners etc should be repaired and used for as long as possible
• Reduce consumption of products, reuse where possible and recycle as a last resort
• Keep researching to find sustainable sources for products, and more eco-friendly options. Endeavour to offer a recycled album and prints on eco-friendly paper in the future
• Keep researching local printing options that can replace the products I source from overseas

They’re small steps and I’m far from perfect but I hope these baby steps will help to offset the things that I can’t control, like the fact most of my products need to be flown in from overseas, and the need to use a car to get to the majority of my photo locations.
