Season of Motherhood | February 2023

With university visits making up part of our Christmas holidays, lessons in self sufficiency and development of life skills become part of your days. I’m glad we have time still, and it’s just part of the preparation process right now – we’ll get there, both of us, love you, Mama, xx This is part of ARTIFACT…

Creativity on the Fly, a Self Paced Course by Kirsty Larmour

It is always an honour when you’re asked to teach on a subject you’re passionate about. So when I was approached by Click Photo School to ask if I could work on something on creativity I took a deep breath and said YES! Why the deep breath? Because creativity is something so deeply ingrained in…

Portrait of Humanity Vol 4

I received this Press Release this week: “Now in its fourth year, the Portrait of Humanity recognises remarkable portraits that capture the moments that make us what we are. Today, we are proud to announce the 200 shortlisted photographs of Portrait of Humanity Volume 4. A striking mix of the contemporary and the timeless is…

Season of Motherhood | April 2022

April is Autism Awareness Month. I’m aware that autism can make the outside seem muted, yet there is a luminous glow ignited from within. I’m aware that autism can be very strikingly black and white sometimes, yet other times all the colours shine. I’m aware that there are many layers to autism, but their depth…

I’m Kirsty, I’m a storyteller

Where does your heart beat loudest in telling the stories of your family? For me, it’s in the little moments. The quiet touch, or reassuring look, the eyes closed soaking it in, the stroke of the hair, the squish of the hug. The bits that make you, you. I made this video for a class…

Weathering Winter | Artifact Motherhood March 2022

We really aren’t used to winters, we tropical girls. We’re used to the sun on our faces, sprinkles of freckles on our shoulders and feeling the earth beneath our bare feet. And at most maybe adding a bobble hat if we go to the mountains, or a hoodie against the chill. On December trips for…

Both Sides of the Lens 2021

Yet again I’m grateful to the most wonderful set of ladies who’ve helped to keep me accountable and in the frame of my family memories over the last year, just as they did through 2020. It’s so difficult as “the photographer” of the family sometimes. Photographing actually forces me to slow down and savour moments….

Delhi Again | Artifact Motherhood, October 2021

Here we are again girls, back in Delhi. We’ve been here since August and so much feels the same, but so much feels different. The first month was spent sitting at these same windows, the ones we watched the second wave rampage across the city through. We were held indoors again, but this time not…

Season of Motherhood | August 2021

Floating, drifting, at sea. Untethered, but together. Facing each wave as it comes. Gasping, then breathing through. Metaphors in photos of a life, in limbo. This is part of ARTIFACT MOTHERHOOD – a project shared with other female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs and words….

Both Sides of the lens

In late 2019 a group of female photographers were chatting about how we always encourage our clients to get in the frame. We reassure them of how much their kids love them just the way they are, reminding them they don’t want to be missing from the images of these years of their kids lives,…

Season of Motherhood | March 2021

Learning new light. How it filters through differently on different days. Different intensities. Different shades. Different patters to observe and respond to. Metaphors for life This is part of ARTIFACT MOTHERHOOD – a project shared with other female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs…

Artifact Motherhood | February 2021

Artifact motherhood is a collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Our hopes and dreams for our children.

Season of Motherhood | September 2020

Sometimes my sweetie, it’s on the blurry days, where we feel we have to work hard to see out through the fog, that we find our strength, and I see you, and your sister, brave enough to share your vulnerabilities, and yet walking through those days with increasing strength.     This is part of…

I'm Kirsty Hello There!

WELCOME TO KIRSTY LARMOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi, I'm Kirsty, a lifestyle photographer and photography educator who lives in India. My approach to photography is to capture real life – with a little sparkle on top fueled by my obsession with pretty light. I want to treasure the moments that need to be remembered.

Grab a cup of tea and have a roam around my blog to see my photography style and ideas. (Check out the Details section up there on the menu bar, and the FAQ's for lots of info too). I post pictures on here from recent photo sessions, as well as some personal photo projects and some ramblings about life in general. Leave some love, check my page out over on Facebook to stay up to date, and come back again soon,
