Artifact Motherhood July 2020

I’m so proud to be a member of Artifact motherhood. It’s a beautiful collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Our hopes and dreams for our children. With little nuggets of wisdom here and there. These are more than photographs with dates written on the…

The Travelling Dress Collective

The travelling dress collective is a beautiful ongoing project where multiple photographers each with their own style and view of the world photograph the same dress to make their own unique visions come alive. I was fascinated by the project and the way different photographers brought varied and individual elements to the project and always…

Artifact Motherhood | April 2020

I’m hugely honoured to be joining Artifact Motherhood; a collaboration of artists from around the world who have come together to share our stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Through our writings and visual records, we want to create memories that are more than photographs with dates written on the back. Started by Diana Hagues and Hollie Stokes, these posts are the artifacts we are leaving behind for our children and for generations to come. Please check out the next artist in our blog circle, and continue through all the artists until you get back to me

Wish You Where Here 2019

Wow, wow, wow! It’s really been 6 whole years of this amazing project, the Wish You Were Here project! And through dodgy wifi and difficult countries, international moves and sickness I’ve kept posting and sharing to our log of a picture a week of life where ever we are. And I absolutely love that I…

A ballerina in the desert

It’s hard to believe it’s been 18 months since we left Abu Dhabi behind and jumped across the Arabian Sea to India. It’s hard because Abu Dhabi is in all of our hearts, it’s a place that made us who we are as a family, and definitely made me who I am as an artist and photographer.

Dear Photographer | The Colour Edition

I was recently published in the beautiful Dear Photographer Magazine. One of the most amazing feelings when you are creating something visual is seeing your work displayed or in print. When it’s a print publication that leads and uplifts the industry and they actually approach you because they think your work would be perfect for…

30 days of | Click Pro December Project

I shared some previous ClickPro monthly projects. I love that these push me to look for different photo opportunities that I might not try otherwise. In December the topic was quite loose…. just “30 days of…” and you could choose your own topic but then shoot it every day. I chose “30 days of my…

Kirsty Larmour Photography | Review of the Year 2018

Happy 2019!! And thanks for the wild ride 2018!! I’m delighted that I got to capture families all over the world this year – our move from Abu Dhabi saw me branch further afield, and try new things, meet different people and embrace change. The constant throughout all this was my desire to capture connection,…

Wish You Were Here 2018

I can not believe it’s been FIVE years of the Wish You Were Here Project – that’s amazing… Most projects fizzle out after a year or 2 so five is an incredible achievement. I’m so, so happy to have a photo a week of little moments in our days and our travels and our normal…

Around Town | Click Pro September Project

Following on from the bravery of the “This is Me” project with ClickPro the next month’s topic was “Around Town” and this one also required some bravery as I was one of the leaders along with 2 incredible ladies Carmody Baker and Denise Laurinaitis. I recorded a video tutorial that can be found in the…

Abu Dhabi Ramadan in Photos

Ramadan Kareem. Ramadan is a really special time when you live in the U.A.E. Last year I strived to capture an Abu Dhabi Ramadan in photos so that I could treasure some of the things that make it unique. It’s a quiet time for contemplation and Abu Dhabi seems peaceful and even for those who…

Nikon Photo School | Learning Photography in the U.A.E.

I’m all for putting my money where my mouth is!!! And to my great honour, Nikon Middle East recently made me do that!!! One day last year I was talking with the people at Nikon Photo School about the lack of females in their speaker lineup, and the lack of education in their lineup aimed…

Wish You Were Here 2017

I’m kind of in disbelief that we just finished year 4 of the Wish You Were Here Project. The fact it’s still going is such testament to the wonderful group pf ladies who contribute little snippets of their lives each week. For me it’s a little piece of calm in an otherwise full speed whirr of…

Abu Dhabi Photographer | Review of the Year 2017

Wow, what a year 2017 was. A rollercoaster in many ways for some of my loved ones, but with the downs there are always the ups! And for me, seeing beautiful families in my favourite places in Abu Dhabi is all part of what makes a year great. And just look at them!! So much…

WELCOME TO KIRSTY LARMOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi, I'm Kirsty, a lifestyle photographer and photography educator who lives in India. My approach to photography is to capture real life – with a little sparkle on top fueled by my obsession with pretty light. I want to treasure the moments that need to be remembered.

Grab a cup of tea and have a roam around my blog to see my photography style and ideas. (Check out the Details section up there on the menu bar, and the FAQ's for lots of info too). I post pictures on here from recent photo sessions, as well as some personal photo projects and some ramblings about life in general. Leave some love, check my page out over on Facebook to stay up to date, and come back again soon,
