I can not believe it’s been FIVE years of the Wish You Were Here Project – that’s amazing… Most projects fizzle out after a year or 2 so five is an incredible achievement. I’m so, so happy to have a photo a week of little moments in our days and our travels and our normal that I’ve wanted to savour as a result of this project. After 5 whole years worth I think I need to make a photo album!!
This year saw big changes for our family. We upped and left Abu Dhabi once in 2014, only to return a year later – this time we aren’t so sure we’ll return. We set off on a crazy road trip from Abu Dhabi to Jordan in our 25 year old camper van – it broke down a lot and in Saudi pretty much all we saw were mechanics yards!! Fun times! But Jordan, and having time to truly explore was amazing. And then we moved to India! And our kids are in school in the jungle and run wild with bare feet and monkeys who come out of the trees and eat the left over chapattis at lunchtime, and I’m not sure we ever COULD go back to Abu Dhabi after this…. it really was a year of embracing new adventures and seeing what would come…. scroll down to see more…
The year also saw us spend 5 weeks in Mexico for a family wedding which in typical Larmour style we made into a road trip. October saw me host a workshop in India along with my great friend and fellow WYWH girl Chloe which was incredible (so incredible that it’s running again this March!!). And we were lucky enough to manage several trips back to Abu Dhabi too just so we didn’t miss the UAE too much 😉
One of my fellow WYWH ladies also blogged her year – I love this project for peeks into what people are doing in other parts of the world – go see what Phyllis was upto in the USA for the last 52 weeks.
2018, you’ve been a ride….lets see what adventures we get up to in 2019!! Bring it on, love, Kirsty xx
PS here’s 2017 if you want to see a little more of our adventures 🙂
