April is Autism Awareness Month.
I’m aware that autism can make the outside seem muted, yet there is a luminous glow ignited from within.
I’m aware that autism can be very strikingly black and white sometimes, yet other times all the colours shine.
I’m aware that there are many layers to autism, but their depth doesn’t make it more or less.
I’m aware that some of this can be portrayed in a photo, but many times it simply can’t be defined.
But most of all I’m aware of how you’ve helped me see the world through a different kind of lens. And I couldn’t be prouder of you, nor love you more. And I will always, always have your back, Mama, xx

Anouk Godbout - I had no idea that she’s had autism. I like how you share about her struggles, and yours, while stil maintaining her privacy. I am a new as a mother with a child with a diagnostic (and maybe more then one will know soon) and I am still unsure about how to share about it without sharing too much. Your way is inspirering. And as always your images are so full of depth and meaning.
