Happy New Year!

I have to admit I was a pretty shocking blogger in 2013 – I’d love to say I’ll do better in 2014, but realistically I know that running a business my priority is always to get the pictures in the hands of my clients… and this sometimes means I don’t get to show those beautiful pictures off quite as much as I’d want…. however, I will try…. and in the meantime let me reflect a little on 2013…

It was a year of ups and downs, for me and my beautiful clients… but mainly it was a year of capturing joy, and of telling the stories of families around Abu Dhabi and the world in photos… and that is what I love to do…. it’s another reason why blogging is so hard for me – because I rarely shoot a client session with the aim of producing half a dozen amazing images – I shoot to tell the story of that family – all the moments, the in between ones, and the stand out ones…. and maybe that’s why so many of my families buy all the photos on disk or in an album to treasure forever, whilst choosing a few of those amazing standout images to hang on their walls – because they love that I captured their whole story….

As one beautiful client said

“Kirsty, we knew we’d love the photos we knew you’d taken, but it was the ones we had no idea you were taking that made us fall in love with what you’d captured for us – those were the images that made our family story complete and we can’t thank you enough”

In the midst of those stories though, here are a few of the beautiful moments…. thank you 2013 – you were a wonderful year, you brought wonderful people into my life, and you allowed me to live out my own dreams telling their stories…

And here’s to 2014 – may it bring me together with more beautiful families, more wonderful stories and more happy, joy filled photos,
