Slow Winter Days | Artifact Motherhood, March 2023

Girlies, here’s the thing about me, which I know you already know. I hate being busy. Ugh, that feeling of having to tick things off a list, the running on a hamster wheel trying to keep up with ourselves, or others, and the idea that our productivity is somehow linked to our worth as humans….

Artifact Motherhood | April 2020

I’m hugely honoured to be joining Artifact Motherhood; a collaboration of artists from around the world who have come together to share our stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Through our writings and visual records, we want to create memories that are more than photographs with dates written on the back. Started by Diana Hagues and Hollie Stokes, these posts are the artifacts we are leaving behind for our children and for generations to come. Please check out the next artist in our blog circle, and continue through all the artists until you get back to me

The Birthday Month | Personal Project | Abu Dhabi Photographer

This is a personal Photo Project I’m undertaking – a little challenge to myself – a set of goals to realise to help me grow, as a photographer and as a mother. Most photographers have personal projects on the go, (you can see my Project 10 posts here  where I document a day in our lives…

Xin Nian Kuai Le | Happy Chinese New Year

We celebrate Chinese New Year in our household – it’s really important to celebrate with our little Chinese girl, who wouldn’t ever let us forget it!! Yesterday, for Chinese New Years eve the girls got to dress up in their special qipao’s and perform at a CNY dinner – I had such a proud Mummy…

Project 10 January | Abu Dhabi Lifestyle Photographer

It’s January!!! Here’s to a new year!! And my first Project 10 of the year (go here to find out how it started and how I’m involved with a fabulous group of photographers from around the globe, and here to see last months). I was soooooo lucky to start out my 2012 on a beach…

Dreaming of a White Christmas…..

There is just something so magical about a white Christmas…..  I caught these precious moments of snow and sparkle fun during our white Christmas in England last year… sigh….. Hope you’re all getting into the festive spirit, Kirsty xx

Happy National Day – 40 years of the UAE

Today is the 40th anniversary of the UAE – it’s a day (a week even) filled with celebrations of the many things this country has achieved in it’s 40 years. It’s been through an evolution that’s pretty hard to comprehend, from desert living to a true 21st century country, and I’m lucky enough to live…

Swing Time | Abu Dhabi commercial photographer

Everyone knows I’m a bit of a greenie – I try so hard to be eco-conscious, hard as it is in this part of the world. When I’m looking for clothes for my kids I’m always drawn to things which help my eco conscience – so I often look for more eco-consious vendors to work…

School Days | Abu Dhabi School Photographer

I am certainly not the first Mummy to take “Back to School” photos so I take no credit on originality here, BUT, this year is special because it marks my baby girl starting school (well Foundation Stage, which is like Kindergarten or Reception or Pre-school depending on where you’re from) – and well, I couldn’t…

Eid Mubarak | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Eid Mubarak to all my wonderful friends and clients. I hope you all had a blessed and peaceful Ramadan wherever you were and if you were here in Abu Dhabi you have my utmost admiration for fasting when it was 50 degrees C out there. I’ve mentioned before how I love the quietness and calm…

More Hong Kong Gorgeousness

I admit it, my Hong Kong friends have the most gorgeous kids….  and the funny thing about this session was that Miss Alessia is quite a firecracker and didn’t sit still, at all…. or at least we thought she didn’t… Proved us wrong huh? I loved spending time with you guys on our trip, this…
