Holiday Time | Abu Dhabi Travel Photographer

It’s holiday time again as we celebrate Eid al Adha. Eid Mubarak to my Muslim friends and clients – and coincidentally it’s Thanksgiving so Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends and clients. We’re taking advantage of this to head off for more adventures in India – and my regular blog readers know well that…

In Print | Abu Dhabi Travel Photographer

I can’t tell you how giddy with excitement I was when I got an email from Lonely Planet saying they wanted to use one of my photos in the November issue of their magazine.  It’s certainly not the first time I’ve seen my pictures in print, but as you know, I’m a bit of a travel junkie,…

Incredible India | Abu Dhabi Travel Photographer

I was absolutely thrilled to recently have a photo chosen for an exhibition in Hong Kong. The exhibition was sponsored by Jet Airways and the theme was “Incredible India”. My image was one of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. We went there on holiday in December last year – just 5 days after the Mumbai terrorist attacks. Our decision…

Featured | Abu Dhabi Lifestyle Photographer

I was featured recently on “I love Photoblogs” which is a great place to go and browse if you’re after photography inspiration – beware you could spend all day clicking from one blog to another! It made me laugh that they got my name wrong though – do you know how many people call me Kristy…

Afternoon at the park * Abu Dhabi Child Photographer

Nainai and Yeye (the grandparents) are in town – which = lots of fun play at the park for Saffy and Indy!and = fun photo time for Mummy!!!  Kirsty x

Eid Mubarak | Abu Dhabi Photographer

A belated Eid Mubarak to you all. Belated because I was enjoying a few days away from my computer over the border in beautiful Oman – though we did make it to Oman full of high spirits about being able to eat and drink anywhere we liked again, only to realise Eid hadn’t yet been…

Sheik Zayed Mosque | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Our family went for Iftar the other day at Sheik Zayed Mosque. This is probably Abu Dhabi’s most famous landmark, and deservedly so – it’s an amazing building, only opened about 18 months ago, which is the second largest mosque in the world, holding approximately 40,000 worshipers. It’s also one of the only mosques in…

Ramadan – Food | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Aaaahhhh, Ramadan…. one of the reasons I love it is the food! And I don’t think I’m the only one – my Emirati friends often tell me that despite the fasting they fear putting weight on during Ramadan because of the divine iftar food. There are so many things that are special for this time…

10 minutes to Iftar | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Most photographers have personal projects ongoing in the background, behind all their professional work, that they wish they had more time to devote to. My current one has a time limit – trying to capture some images of what Ramadan is here in Abu Dhabi. It’s a month that means different things to different people, but I…

Questions | Abu Dhabi Lifestyle Photographer

I get asked a lot of questions by clients before their shoots, or even before they book me, and it’s important to be armed with information so you can make the right choice about whether I’m the photographer for you. Is my style what you’re looking for? Do you need some guidance on clothing? Are…

Much Better * Abu Dhabi Child Photographer

I just thought I’d share these pics to show that Indy is much, much better – and to say thank you everyone for your concern and well wishes. She’s back on fine form and even indulged me a small, impromptu (you can tell it’s unscheduled because her bobbles don’t match!!) photo shoot the other day…

Betrothed ♥ Abu Dhabi Engagement Photographer

I was recently asked to photograph the ladies celebration of an engagement (as in betrothal to be married). To be trusted to carry out such a duty was a huge honour as many ladies here don’t have their photograph taken, because on a day-t0-day basis, in public, their faces or hair are covered. Needless to say, in my chats…

Under the weather | Abu Dhabi Child Photographer

My 2 girls have both been feeling very, very sorry for themselves this week and I’ve been spending a lot of time on trying to nurse them back to full health again… and in doing so caught the nasty cold they had myself.  I’ve managed to carry on without re-scheduling any shoots (but with huge thanks to those…

Ramadan Family Time Promotion | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Ramadan has lots of meanings, but to me, as a non-muslim, one of the most important aspects that I can easily embrace is that it’s a family time. It’s a time to take stock of life and slow down to appreciate what’s around you, and a lot of us here are lucky enough to be…

Ramadan Kareem | Abu Dhabi Photographer

Ramadan has started here in Abu Dhabi (for those reading from abroad Ramadan doesn’t necessarily start on the same day in all countries). This is my 3rd ramadan here and I have been soooo looking forward to it.  I’ve got to admit, the first one I found a real drag because we’d just arrived and…
