shalonda - oooohhhh kirsty! i feel ya mama its def a pretty crazy time of the year…BUT…i love your outlook on it! WHen i quit my “real job” to be a mom i always heard that little ugly voice in my brain saying “but what will your daughters think of you, just staying home?!” then my life took this path and i found photography and i realized just how much they will learn from me and me “just staying home” 🙂 wonderfully said and beautifully finished…as YES THERE IS ALWAYS TIME FOR SNUGGLES. xoxo sweet friend

But what you said is so true. it’s good for them to see how hard you work to help have the lifestyle that you have and it’s ok for them to have to wait or to hear a “not today” every now and then. I love what you wrote Kirsty.. this season is like that for all of us isn’t it? I am going to remember what you said.. that it is GOOD for the girls to see a hard working mum… that sometimes that is okay and they can fend for themselves a little more than usual. Just reading that I let go of a little bit of mom guilt I was feeling myself. I can’t wait to meet you someday.. i feel like we are kindred spirits. xo

Rashmi - So beautifully said my friend. Your Indy-pie reminds me of my own little girl.. her big sister being her hero and sometimes struggling and feeling unsettled without her sister there. These challenges will make them grow and step out of their sister’s shadow and become their own person. Such a blessing to have a sister. <3

Danielle - Such a sweet letter to Indy. My two were completely dis-combobulated this past summer, and had a crazy 6 weeks. One of them handled it sooo well, the other was not as easy-going. It is hard for these little people to adjust at times (just like us!), and being taken out of their comfort zone can be a good thing. Extra snuggles & hugs are a perfect remedy! I hope we get to see you all this Xmas, we’ll be here. x

Sarah C - Oh Kristy! I love love your instagram photos of your girls. They are absolutely beautiful!! Honestly iPhone snaps have become a staple in our life because its really freed up so much time not having to lug our equipment around and being able to really snap and share images of our family with the people we care about. I can only imagine what a special time this month must be for you. Christmas time was similar for us for years and years when my husband worked 60-70 hours a week and we got extra time with them and Christmas break with our littles. Thank you so much for sharing something so sweet and precious to you with us all!! You just have the most beautiful girls!

I promise it’s not for the want of trying… twice I’ve contacted photographers in the UK and tried to arrange shoots when we’ve been there……

Kate - I do think you rock the self timer but I can’t wait to see photos of all of you in Paris!
Angus - I’ve got to admit feeling a little let down, KB! I saw ‘confessions’ and I thought you’d turned a page in your photographic career and moved on to Robin Askwith territory. But no, just more photos of you and the gorgeous collection of people you call family. Fame awaits you.
janine - ‘i love Paris in the springtime…’ i can’t wait to see what this family session brings. it’s about time you were able to enjoy yourself and let someone else do all the work!
Kate - Ok let me first say this…I TOTALLY feel ya. We definitely need to have an entourage which includes a prof photog at all times!
But these are wonderful memories…they might not be perfect but they’re you – in the moment. The ones you’re not in you’ll still remember everything about because of all the work you put into getting them. I have had to accept over the last couple of years that whether they’re perfect or not (usually not) ANY pictureiof us all together is better than no picture.
You have a wonderful collection of pictures and you certainly know how to rock the self timer.
Still, I can’t wait to see your Paris session…just try to read your website advice for clients first…relax and enjoy yourselves lol! Xoxo
