Slow Winter Days | Artifact Motherhood, March 2023

Girlies, here’s the thing about me, which I know you already know. I hate being busy. Ugh, that feeling of having to tick things off a list, the running on a hamster wheel trying to keep up with ourselves, or others, and the idea that our productivity is somehow linked to our worth as humans….

With university visits making up part of our Christmas holidays, lessons in self sufficiency and development of life skills become part of your days. I’m glad we have time still, and it’s just part of the preparation process right now – we’ll get there, both of us, love you, Mama, xx This is part of ARTIFACT…

Doing your best | Artifact Motherhood September 2022

When you told us a few years you wanted to go to a school that would give you a good chance of going to university (after being adamant for a while that you wouldn’t want to go) we told you all we ever expected was for you to give your best to the opportunities life…

Creativity on the Fly, a Self Paced Course by Kirsty Larmour

It is always an honour when you’re asked to teach on a subject you’re passionate about. So when I was approached by Click Photo School to ask if I could work on something on creativity I took a deep breath and said YES! Why the deep breath? Because creativity is something so deeply ingrained in…

Season of Motherhood | February 2022

A feeling of “Here we go again”… continued life in limbo… This is part of ARTIFACT MOTHERHOOD – a project shared with other female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs and words. Our seasons are short snippets in the midst of real life where we pause…

Season of Motherhood | August 2021

Floating, drifting, at sea. Untethered, but together. Facing each wave as it comes. Gasping, then breathing through. Metaphors in photos of a life, in limbo. This is part of ARTIFACT MOTHERHOOD – a project shared with other female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs and words….

Through the Windows | Artifact Motherhood, May 2021

Through the windows. Girls, I seem to have inadvertently created a little series of images with a common thread. A series of you both, and occasionally me, gazing out of the windows of our Delhi apartment. Pauses in our days, wondering what’s going on and how things are on the other side. It’s May 2021,…

India Covid-19 Art Sale

UPDATE: We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our fundraiser, and the number of people we don’t even know who have donated to our appeal. We are Kirsty, Saffy and Indy – a Mum and 2 teenage daughters currently in Delhi, India, and feeling a desperate need to do something from our lockdown isolation to…

Both Sides of the lens

In late 2019 a group of female photographers were chatting about how we always encourage our clients to get in the frame. We reassure them of how much their kids love them just the way they are, reminding them they don’t want to be missing from the images of these years of their kids lives,…

Season of Motherhood | March 2021

Learning new light. How it filters through differently on different days. Different intensities. Different shades. Different patters to observe and respond to. Metaphors for life This is part of ARTIFACT MOTHERHOOD – a project shared with other female artists who are documenting our journeys as mothers and creating memories for our children through our photographs…

Making crumble

I recently took a class on making films with the wonderful Sarah Mason. Sarah creates moments that combine both whimsy and truth in her film making and has inspired me for years. In all honesty, while I use photography for many reasons during different seasons of life, the overriding purpose of it isn’t about a…

Wish You Where Here 2019

Wow, wow, wow! It’s really been 6 whole years of this amazing project, the Wish You Were Here project! And through dodgy wifi and difficult countries, international moves and sickness I’ve kept posting and sharing to our log of a picture a week of life where ever we are. And I absolutely love that I…

30 days of | Click Pro December Project

I shared some previous ClickPro monthly projects. I love that these push me to look for different photo opportunities that I might not try otherwise. In December the topic was quite loose…. just “30 days of…” and you could choose your own topic but then shoot it every day. I chose “30 days of my…

I'm Kirsty Hello There!

WELCOME TO KIRSTY LARMOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi, I'm Kirsty, a lifestyle photographer and photography educator who lives in India. My approach to photography is to capture real life – with a little sparkle on top fueled by my obsession with pretty light. I want to treasure the moments that need to be remembered.

Grab a cup of tea and have a roam around my blog to see my photography style and ideas. (Check out the Details section up there on the menu bar, and the FAQ's for lots of info too). I post pictures on here from recent photo sessions, as well as some personal photo projects and some ramblings about life in general. Leave some love, check my page out over on Facebook to stay up to date, and come back again soon,

Kirsty xx
